ELEMENTS

 

​A selection of artworks by artists from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East was exhibited in poster format as part of the River of Life project for the Kensington + Chelsea Festival, at Kensal Canalside, London, UK, in 2021.

This snapshot of the work, curated by Sara Choudhrey (UK) and originally presented in a 3D virtual gallery during the 'Elements' exhibition, invited audiences to reflect on how abstract art can mirror and reference the natural environment — how this may influence the spaces we inhabit, and how those spaces, in turn, may shape our perception of nature. What might we learn from the underlying patterns that connect us to flora, fauna, water, and air?
Through their abstraction, these works challenge conventional distinctions between the material and the immaterial, encouraging a deeper engagement with our surroundings.
